Thighplasty can be a key step in post-weight-loss body contouring when extra skin remains on the legs after a major transformation. Our patient is a 23-year-old Black female who had previously been morbidly obese and reached a highest weight of 340 pounds. Through diet and exercise, she reduced her weight to 175 pounds, but she still wanted help with excess thigh skin that did not tighten on its own. Dr. Katzen performed a thigh lift as part of her comprehensive body-transformation plan while she was under general anesthesia. During surgery, Dr. Katzen removed loose skin and excess tissue from the thighs, then shaped the area to create a smoother, more proportional contour. For patients after massive weight loss, the thighs can be especially challenging because the skin may hang, fold, or make the legs look heavier than they are. A thigh lift after weight loss helps treat this stretched skin and can improve the overall shape of the lower body. Photos were taken 16 months after surgery, and our patient achieved remarkable results. Most importantly, she feels more confident in her new body. This case demonstrates how surgical skin removal can help the body better reflect a patient’s weight-loss success. Dr. Katzen’s thigh lift approach focused on improving contour, reducing excess skin, and helping the legs appear more balanced with her abdomen and hips, and supporting a full transformation. The result helped her lower body look smoother and more refined.

Thigh Lift With Dr. Katzen

After a 165-pound weight loss, our patient wanted her legs to better reflect the work she had put into transforming her health.  Our patient is a 23-year-old Black female who had previously been morbidly obese and reached a highest weight of 340 pounds.  Through diet and exercise, she reduced her weight to 175 pounds, but the excess skin left behind on her thighs remained a concern.  She chose Dr. Katzen for a thigh lift, also known as a thighplasty, as part of her comprehensive body-transformation plan.  She was placed under general anesthesia for surgery.  During the procedure, Dr. Katzen removed loose skin and excess tissue to reduce sagging and create a smoother lower body contour.  This body-contouring surgery is designed for patients who have undergone major weight loss and have skin that no longer tightens naturally.  By removing excess thigh skin, a thigh lift can help refine the legs, improve proportion, and create a cleaner silhouette from the front and side views.  Photos were taken 16 months after surgery, and our patient achieved remarkable results.  Most importantly, she feels more confident in her new body.  This case shows how thighplasty after weight loss can help complete a transformation by addressing the loose skin that diet and exercise cannot correct.  Dr. Katzen’s plan focused on creating smoother thighs and improving the overall balance of her body contour.  The result helped her lower body look smoother, more proportional, and more complete.
