"Best Friends Having Silicone Removal in Buttocks Together, then BBL - So many young people like myself fall victim to silicone injections. I was 21 years old when my best friend talked me into getting silicone injections into my butt. She and I both had it done and we both deeply regret it. We were living in fear that something bad was happening to us. We both had symptoms that were just downright scary, pain, redness, like a brain fog feeling, panic attacks, and more. It was a terrifying time when we read about other things that have happened to others who also had silicone injections. We both did our research to find the best surgeon to remove the silicone in our buttocks. We both agreed that Dr. Katzen was our top choice, after all, he performs silicone removals on a regular basis. Not only did we both have silicone removal from Dr. Katzen, we both later returned to him for BBL. Dr. Katzen is a gem!"- K. / RealSelf / Jun 09, 2022

"My thighs turned out beautiful and recovery was not as bad as what I thought it would be - I've gone through a few reconstructive plastic surgeries after bariatric surgery but somehow the thigh lift surgery was the one that made me the most nervous. I heard so many things from others in the weight loss forums that I belong to, that it made me have a second thought about having the thigh lift surgery. One day while I was in the forum to research some more, I found one of Dr. Katzen's patient who had muliple surgeries with him, including a thigh lift. She had nothing but great things to say about him. I made a phone consultation appointment to talk to Dr. Katzen, I live in Ohio. Prior to the phone appointment, the office had me fill out the paperwork and had me sent some pictures of my thighs. Dr. Katzen was able to mark the areas in the pictures and approximate how much skin and fat he can remove. He was so pleasant to talk to. I flew out a few days before surgery and met him in person. He was more amazing than ever which calmed my nerves. My thighs turned out beautiful and recovery was not as bad as what I thought it would be. Dr. Katzen gave many suggestions of what to do to prep for post op, and I followed his instructions carefully. Would I do this again? Yes, in a heartbeat! This thigh lift surgery has changed my life."- P. / RealSelf / Jun 07, 2022
who is a Candidate for EAR SURGERY?
Ear reshaping surgery is a safe procedure that can be done on patients of all ages. In fact, it is incredibly common among young children. It's often suggested that children receive this surgery before they start elementary school. Around age 4 – 6, this operative procedure is safe to be performed on a child. If you feel embarrassment regarding the shape and size of your ears because they stick out or are too large, otoplasty can be considered to attain a natural-looking appearance. If you suffer from a torn, stretched, or damaged earlobe, you may also be a candidate for otoplasty.
what to expect during EAR SURGERY
Ear reshaping surgery is completed using anesthesia, either general or IV sedation. Most often, the incision is made around the back portion of the ear or inside the inner folds. During surgery, cartilage will be manipulated to create a new contour and natural-looking appearance. It's generally common for both ears to be altered during the surgical procedure to ensure that they appear symmetrical. After surgery, the incisions are safely stitched together with sutures and wrapped so they are safeguarded for healing.
how long is recovery after EAR SURGERY?
Once the procedure is finished and it is safe to leave the outpatient surgery center, you will heal and rest at home. Dr. Katzen or a member of his team will send you home with recovery instructions. It is important to not rub, touch, or scratch the ears. You or your child also should avoid laying on the ears, and instead, you should sleep propped up for the first few days. We recommend ear surgery patients to return to our Beverly Hills, CA office within 3 – 5 days after their otoplasty. During this follow-up appointment, Dr. Katzen will remove your coverings and assess the ears for progress. Your more natural-looking ears will be visible almost immediately, and your results will continue to improve as the ears heal.
ear surgery FAQs
Will the results of ear surgery last?
Normally, the ears mature faster than other parts of the face and body, which is why an otoplasty can be performed on younger patients with long-lasting results. Dr. Katzen will examine the ears and then discuss realistic expectations and go over how long your results should last. Even as the face and body can change due to age and gravity, the effect on the ears is usually minimal. If there are dramatic changes to the ears due to an injury, a second otoplasty could be done.
How old should my child be to consider otoplasty?
Typically, children about 4 – 6 years of age are ideal candidates for otoplasty. While the ear is usually fully developed, the cartilage and tissue will still be soft, making it easy to change. This age is also good because it tends to be early on in their education. This means that your child can avoid teasing from their classmates. Although many otoplasty patients are young children, Dr. Katzen also frequently performs ear surgery for adults.
Do I need to have both ears done or just one?
The most common problems, including ears that are oversized or stick out, occur in both ears so both will often need to be addressed. During your surgery, Dr. Katzen will shape both ears so they are as equal as possible. However, if only one ear needs to be changed, the size and shape will be altered to match the other ear. When he develops your treatment plan, Dr. Katzen will let you know whether one or both ears will be addressed.
