A 360-degree lower-body lift can address the loose skin that wraps around the lower torso after significant weight loss. Our patient is a 42-year-old White male who had previously been morbidly obese reaching his highest weight of 350 pounds. Through diet and exercise, he reduced his weight to 215 pounds, but the excess skin left behind still bothered him. He came to Dr. Katzen seeking a more comprehensive body-contouring solution, and a circumferential body lift (CBL) became part of his customized full-body transformation plan. He was placed under general anesthesia for surgery. During the procedure, Dr. Katzen removed excess skin and tissue from the abdomen, hips, lower back, buttocks, and outer thighs. Because the incision goes around the lower body, the procedure can improve the front, sides, and back together. This makes a CBL especially helpful for post-weight-loss patients with abdominal overhang, lower back folds, hip laxity, and buttock sagging. Photos were taken 4 months after surgery, and our patient achieved remarkable results. Most importantly, he feels more confident in his new body. This case demonstrates how circumferential body lift surgery can help create a smoother, more masculine contour after major weight loss. Dr. Katzen’s approach focused on removing excess skin while improving proportion, comfort, and lower-body shape after his transformation and clothing fit.

Removing loose skin after major weight loss can help the body better match the hard work a patient has already done. Our patient is a 42-year-old White male who had previously been morbidly obese and reached a highest weight of 350 pounds. Through diet and exercise, he reduced his weight to 215 pounds, but he was still bothered by excess skin on his lower body. He had a previous tummy tuck from another surgeon. As part of his customized full-body transformation plan, Dr. Katzen performed a circumferential body lift (CBL) while he was under general anesthesia. During this 360 body lift procedure, Dr. Katzen removed excess skin and tissue from around the abdomen, hips, lower back, buttocks, and outer thighs. This allows the lower body to be reshaped from the front, sides, and back in one operation. A CBL after weight loss is different from a tummy tuck because it treats the entire lower torso, not just the abdomen. The procedure can improve abdominal overhang, waistline shape, lower back rolls, hip contour, and buttock position. Photos were taken 4 months after surgery, and our patient achieved remarkable results. Most importantly, he feels more confident in his new body. This case highlights how post-weight-loss skin removal surgery can create a smoother, tighter, and more proportional contour when stretched skin cannot tighten with exercise alone. Dr. Katzen customized the surgery to support his transformation and improve his overall body balance.
