Our Location

After her weight-loss journey, our patient wanted her lower body to reflect the progress she had worked so hard to achieve. Our patient is a 61-year-old White female who had previously been morbidly obese and reached a highest weight of 265 lbs. Through dieting, exercise, RNY gastric bypass, and GLP-1 medications, she reached her lowest weight of 165 lbs. Even after losing 100 lbs, she was left with hanging skin around her tummy, waist, hips, and lower body. She came to Dr. Katzen for post-weight-loss body contouring and removal of excess skin. As part of her customized full-body transformation plan, Dr. Katzen performed a circumferential lower body lift while she was under general anesthesia. During this 360 body lift, Dr. Katzen removed loose skin from the abdomen and continued tightening around the waist, hips, lower back, buttocks, and outer thighs. This approach treats the lower body all the way around instead of focusing on the front of the stomach. A circumferential lower body lift after weight loss can reduce abdominal overhang, improve lower tummy laxity, smooth lower back folds, and create a more defined waistline. Photos were taken 3 months after surgery, and our patient achieved remarkable results. This case highlights how lower body lift surgery can help complete a transformation after obesity, bariatric surgery, GLP-1-assisted weight loss, diet, and exercise by creating a smoother, tighter, and more proportional contour.

Body Lift After Weight Loss

Reaching 165 lbs was a major victory, but our patient still had loose skin, leaving her body feeling unfinished.  Our patient is a 61-year-old White female who had previously been morbidly obese, with a highest weight of 265 lbs.  Her transformation included dieting, exercise, RNY gastric bypass, and GLP-1 medications.  After weight loss, the excess skin around her tummy and lower torso did not tighten on its own, so she came to Dr. Katzen for a customized full-body transformation plan.  Dr. Katzen performed a circumferential lower body lift, also known as a 360 body lift, while she was under general anesthesia.  During surgery, he removed hanging skin from the abdomen, waist, hips, lower back, buttocks, and outer thighs.  By treating the lower torso from the front, sides, and back, this procedure can create a smoother abdominal contour and improve the overall shape of the lower body.  Unlike a traditional tummy tuck, a circumferential lower body lift is designed for patients whose loose skin wraps around the body after weight loss.  Photos were taken 3 months after surgery, and our patient achieved remarkable results.  This case shows how post-weight-loss skin removal can improve the tummy, waistline, hips, and lower back in one procedure.  Dr. Katzen’s goal was to help her body match the hard work she had already done while creating a balanced lower-body contour after obesity, RNY surgery, GLP-1-assisted weight loss, diet, and exercise.
