The patient is a 5'6", 150 pound, 54-year-old White woman who weighed 418 pounds. After she had the gastric sleeve bypass, she changed her eating and exercise routines. She was able to lose 268 pounds. After losing a lot of weight, she was unhappy with the extra skin and fat on her back. She did a lot of research and decided to get help from Dr. J. Timothy Katzen in Beverly Hills, California. The patient and Dr. Katzen agreed that in the event of back liposuction alone, the patient would grow deeper folds of skin on the back. Dr. Katzen did a horizontal torsoplasty in addition to liposuction on the back. Six pounds of extra back skin and fat were cut off during the horizontal torsoplasty. A board-certified anesthesiologist administered general anesthesia to the patient. A drain was placed on both sides. Both back drains were taken out fourteen days after surgery. Two weeks after surgery, the patient could return to her sitting job. The person wore her compression device for a total of six weeks. She changed her bandage every day for two weeks. The patient placed silicone strips and scar cream twice daily from the fourth week. This patient is delighted with her horizontal torsoplasty results. Her horizontal torsoplasty has made it possible for her to wear clothes that she couldn't before. After undergoing the backlift, she felt happy and better about herself again. She felt more comfortable with the appearance of her back and her weight-loss accomplishments.
