A bilateral medial thigh lift can dramatically improve inner thigh contour when loose skin remains after weight loss. Our patient is a 50-year-old White female who was unhappy with the excess skin of her thighs after losing weight. Even at 159 pounds, she was left with residual inner thigh skin that would not tighten on its own and caused frustration with clothing, movement, and her overall silhouette. She came to Dr. J. Timothy Katzen seeking surgical thigh contouring and a smoother, firmer appearance. Under general anesthesia, Dr. Katzen performed a bilateral medial thigh lift with vertical incisions placed along the inner thighs. This thigh lift procedure is designed to remove hanging skin and reshape the thighs by carefully excising the redundant tissue, refining the contour, and redraping the remaining skin for a tighter look. Vertical inner thigh incisions are often necessary when excess skin extends down the thigh and cannot be corrected with a smaller hidden incision alone. The goal is to reduce skin laxity, improve proportion, and create better thigh definition while maintaining a natural appearance. These photos were taken just 2 weeks after surgery, and her early results already show remarkable improvement in inner thigh contour, less loose skin, and a more sculpted shape. Because she is still very early in recovery, swelling and healing are ongoing, which makes her progress especially impressive.

Excess inner thigh skin after weight loss often does not respond to exercise because stretched skin cannot simply shrink back. Our patient, a 50-year-old White female, was bothered by the loose skin of her thighs that remained after weight loss and wanted a more refined leg contour. At 159 pounds, she had done the hard work of losing weight, but the remaining excess thigh skin continued to bother her and kept her from feeling fully comfortable in her body. She turned to Dr. J. Timothy Katzen for a bilateral medial thigh lift with vertical incisions in the inner thighs. Performed under general anesthesia, this plastic surgery procedure removes excess skin along the inner thighs and reshapes the legs for a firmer, smoother contour. During a medial thigh lift, the redundant skin is carefully excised, the tissue is tailored, and the remaining skin is redraped to improve thigh tone and reduce sagging. Vertical incisions are especially helpful when the extra skin extends lower down the thigh and requires more complete contouring. The result can be better leg proportions, less friction from loose skin, and a more youthful appearance of the inner thighs. Her photos were taken only 2 weeks after surgery and already show remarkable early thigh lift results, including a cleaner inner thigh line, less hanging skin, and a noticeably improved contour. At this early stage, her swelling is still settling, so her progress is especially exciting.
