The Brazilian Butt Lift consultation Before you go under the knife, you will first need to consult with Dr. Katzen, who is a plastic surgeon. You and Dr. Katzen will discuss your desired butt shape and size and determine if this is attainable. After your consultation, you will need to get a series of medical tests so you can be medically cleared for surgery. Once all your paperwork is received, and you are medically cleared, you are ready for buttock augmentation surgery.

Here’s what you can expect during the Brazilian Butt Lift. The Brazilian Butt Lift procedure is performed under IV or general anesthesia. Dr. Katzen strategically makes several ¼ inch incisions to minimize scarring. After the incisions are made, Dr. Katzen inserts skin ports to protect your skin from friction and thermal damage from the liposuction cannula. Next, Dr. Katzen injects tumescent solution to numb the area and minimize blood loss. Liposuction is performed first. The fat is harvested, strained, and washed with antibiotics. Once the fat has been harvested and washed, Dr. Katzen loads the accumulated fat into syringes. The fat is now ready to be injected into the buttocks. Since every patient desires a “natural feeling” butt, fat is injected into the buttock muscles and buttock fatty layer. After the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure, Dr. Katzen places his patients into a fitted, compression garment that will maintain the new and improved butt contour. Dr. Katzen also created a great way for his patients to receive optimal results. Before the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure, Dr. Katzen will measure your height, waistline, and anticipated buttock shape. Dr. Katzen will create a custom fitted foam mattress with a personalized cut out for your new buttock. Since compression kills newly transplanted fat cells to the buttock, this foam mattress will protect the newly transplanted fat cells. After the procedure, Dr. Katzen will place you onto the personalized foam mattress with your new buttocks in the mattress hole. The personally designed foam helps to keep pressure off the buttocks and let the newly transferred fat cells establish their new blood supply. Since patients cannot directly sit on their bottom for three weeks, this foam helps.

Now for the recovery.... With any surgery, you can expect some swelling and soreness. This normal post-operative pain is treated with mild pain relievers. For the first two weeks, you cannot sit on your newly augmented bottom. After two weeks, you can sit on a pillow. Most patients can return to work within a week. Three to four weeks after a Brazilian Butt Lift, most patients can resume light exercise. After a Brazilian Butt Lift, it will take approximately about a month to see the best results. Keep in mind that every person heals differently. Some patients recover faster than others, and some heal slower than others. Recovery rate and results will vary. The Brazilian Butt Lift should only be performed by an experienced, plastic surgeon. I do not suggest a Brazilian Butt Lift be performed by non-experienced, plastic surgeons. Non-trained, “medical personnel”; would purchase random chemicals to be used as fillers from places like Home Depot and Lowe’s.
