A 360 Lower Body Lift, which is also called a circumferential lower body lift, is a plastic surgery procedure that is performed for anyone who wants to simultaneously tighten their abdomen, hips, and buttocks. Often, the 360 lower body lift is performed on people who have lost a lot of weight. Many people who lose lots of weight, whether through conventional means or bariatric surgery, often find themselves left with a lot of sagging skin and some stubborn fat deposits. A 360 Lower Body Lift is major surgery that can take anywhere between six and eight hours. The 360 lower body lift is performed under general anesthesia. Usually, Dr. Katzen will begin the 360 body lift by making an incision across the buttocks. Dr. Katzen will dissect the buttocks and outer leg. Dr. Katzen will also remove excess fat and skin. After stitching the incisions closed, Dr. Katzen will carefully turn the patient over and work on their front on the abdomen, the rectus muscles are tightened and excess abdominal skin and fat are removed. The patient will stay in the hospital or recovery center for two to four days after the procedure. After returning home, the patient will need to rest and avoid strenuous activities and heavy lifting for at least two weeks. If the patient has children and/or pets, they need to have arranged for somebody else to take care of them ahead of time. What Does Breast Reconstruction Involve? Breast reconstruction is a surgical procedure done to help a patient who has lost a breast or part of a breast to a mastectomy for breast cancer. The patient may undergo breast reconstruction surgery immediately after the mastectomy, or they may choose to wait until they have recovered from the mastectomy. The point of breast reconstruction is to create a natural-looking breast that resembles the original in both look and feel. Breast reconstruction can involve implants, fat transfers, and/or tissue flaps. Most patients will need a combination of the aforementioned procedures. Different breast reconstruction procedures all have their advantages and disadvantages. For example, tissue flaps produce very natural-looking breasts, but the surgery takes longer and requires a longer recovery period. Whereas, breast implants give immediate, long-lasting results.
