Four Ways to Get A More Bountiful Backside

1. Frequent exercise 


If you are not ready for a surgical option quite yet to boost your backside, the first step we often recommend is good old fashioned exercise. In your workouts, you can use tools such as the StairMaster® or similar equipment, elliptical machine, or booty-targeting exercises like squats and deadlifts. All of these movements focus on the muscles in your buttocks or the glutes. Some yoga poses may also increase your flexibility, leading to a smaller waist, while increasing the size of your butt. This first option for improving your bottom is a slow, nonsurgical process, so you cannot expect results right away. Also, long term maintenance of frequent exercising is essential to maintain your new backside.


A firmer, tighter butt can be achieved by building up the glute muscles slowly over time. By giving it definition and shape, you are on your way to a better backside. There are many benefits to exercising for at least one hour, three times per week. Exercise can make you feel healthier, happier, and more relaxed, but it is not an overnight fix to changing your buttocks. More than that, exercise may not give you precisely the silhouette you seek. If you choose to go this route, it takes time and dedication to maintain the look you desire. 


2. Brazilian butt lift (fat transfer) 


Individuals who want to see results right away can opt for a Brazilian butt lift. Brazilian butt lift is a surgical procedure that transfers pockets of fat from one area of the body using liposuction, purifying it, then injecting it carefully into the buttocks. It's the ultimate win-win situation, especially if you want to eliminate fat from other areas of the body such as the stomach, lower back, upper thighs, and flanks. 


A Brazilian butt lift takes a few hours to perform under general anesthesia and only leaves behind a scar the size of a pencil eraser from where the fat was harvested from and under each butt cheek where the fat is reinjected. Recovery from this surgery only takes a few weeks, and results are seen in about 4 – 6 weeks post-op. Afterward, your butt will seem shapelier and more curvaceous! 


3. Buttock implants 


For some patients, another excellent option for permanent augmentation is buttock implants. Implants are safe and approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to enhance your backside and create a better shape. Implants are similar to those placed in a breast augmentation. However, butt implants are made from solid silicone instead of fluid-filled silicone. Butt implants are long-lasting and are unaffected by your lifestyle, no matter how active you are. 


Butt implants only takes a couple of hours under general anesthesia to perform. Buttock implants do not need to be changed after a certain period of time. Many patients like to combine butt augmentation with a butt lift, or gluteoplasty, which addresses stretched out skin by tightening and removing excess skin for a full makeover. This combination creates a shapelier and more appealing behind. 


4. Injectables 


Individuals who do not have pockets of fat or loose skin, but still want to benefit from an augmentation can take advantage of Sculptra® injectables.
