Facial Rejuvenation: What are My Options?

9/24/2018

Regardless of age, the skin on the face has been through a lot. Whether that be sun damage, acne, or gravity, there's no denying facial skin gets the worst of it. That is why Dr. J. Timothy Katzen offers a variety of facial rejuvenation treatments. We are not always wise in our younger years so that sun damage can cause a lot of regrets. Acne can strike at any age for virtually any reason, and gravity is unavoidable and will inevitably cause sagging and wrinkles. Dr. Katzen is here to help you fix all that.

BOTOX® Designed to combat light to moderate wrinkles, BOTOX® is a prescription injectable that can treat forehead furrows, wrinkles, crow's feet, and frown lines. BOTOX® is a purified protein solution that relaxes the facial muscles and makes the wrinkles fade or disappear. Dysport® is a similar injection that Dr. Katzen offers. BOTOX® treatments only take about 20 minutes to perform, and results usually last from 3 to 5 months.

Chemical Peels This facial rejuvenation treatment is non-invasive and is used to treat sun damage, acne, and wrinkles. Chemical peels work by peeling off the outer layer of the skin to reveal the smoother, undamaged skin underneath. Chemical peels can also be used on the neck and hands. Depending on the severity of the blemishes you wish to treat, you can receive light, medium, or deep chemical peel. Dr. Katzen can discuss the differences at your consultation. Each facial rejuvenation treatment has its pros and cons, which Dr. Katzen will be happy to discuss with you. A more intense treatment will probably be necessary if you are experiencing severe blemishes, but a lighter treatment might work if you want a few blemishes cleared up here and there.
